About Think Professionally
A small events practice for senior professionals who would rather think than tweet.
What we are for
Think Professionally exists because the conferences that taught us most are getting harder to find. The thoughtful day with six well-prepared speakers, the workshop where the chair actually chairs, the retreat where the phones stay in the lockbox until tea.
We programme events for senior practitioners who already know the basics of their field and are looking for an honest few hours with peers who do too.
Who comes
Our rooms tend to hold forty to one hundred and twenty people, depending on the format. Most are directors, partners, principals, senior civil servants, founders past the first decade, and the kind of operator who reads the FT before lunch and has stopped expecting any single speaker to be the answer.
Roughly a third are returning attendees. Roughly a quarter come on a personal ticket rather than a corporate budget, which we take as a useful signal.
What makes the day different
Three things, mainly. First, we do not sell speaking slots. Every speaker is invited on the strength of their work, and every brief is written by the chair.
Second, the schedule has fewer sessions than a typical industry conference, with longer Q and A, longer breaks, and a printed reader sent two weeks in advance. Third, no recordings. The room is the product, and the conversations on the day stay in the room.
We are not in the content business. We are in the considered-conversation business.
What you leave with
A short list of practical moves you intend to make in the next quarter. A handful of contacts whose direct lines now sit in your phone. A printed booklet you will actually refer back to. Occasionally, a changed mind, which is worth the train fare on its own.
If that sounds like a day you would clear the diary for, the events page lists everything we are running between June and December. Tickets are limited by room rather than by tier, and the patron seats tend to go first.
